About Shauna

Shauna Twardzik-Heine is a ceramic sculptor whose practice is grounded in the human figure and its complex relationship to objects, desire, and consumption. Her work examines the impulses of possession and display by using the figure as a site where material culture and identity intersect. Hand-sculpted in clay and layered with fiber scraps, bold color, and smoky surfaces, her sculptures hover between realism and abstraction. She received an MFA in Ceramics from the University of Wales School of Art and Design in Cardiff, Wales. She lives and works in Denver, Colorado, where she also teaches ceramics.
