About the Work: Pit Fired Vessels

My Vessel exploration is refining the coil built forms and pushing the coloration of the surface. The shapes echo one another as I reach for the most aesthetically pleasingly proportions. These shapes provide a controlled blank canvas for the pit and saagar firings wild and unpredictable surface variations. I like my work to be a play between control and chaos.
