About the Work: Figure Series

I am interested in the human relationship with objects and our compulsion to collect and consume. These hand built ceramic sculptures are wrestling with ideas of power vs. helplessness, abundance vs. excess, status vs. obscurity and the fine line which separates these perceptions.

About the Work: Vessels

My Vessel exploration is refining the coil built forms and creating the coloration of the surface.
The shapes echo one another as I reach for the most aesthetically pleasingly proportions. These shapes provide a controlled blank canvas for the pit and saagar firings wild and unpredictable surface variations. I like my work to be a play between control and chaos.

About the Work: Tile Series

All the images on my tiles are from my own drawings and silkscreens. I use the silkscreen to print the images directly onto the clay. I love the natural beauty of organic edges and raw clay. Having this as a canvas allows the simplicity of the image to lead.
